    Default Shooting in the Rain

A lot wrong with this photo, not quite sharp, not perfect exposure with very high ISO,
but this is the best pose I ever get with the Greenies and I do not get many like this.
One day I will get a good one...
I shoot in the rain quite often where I live, I enjoy the challenge of trying to make a
good photo in poor conditions and beside, I get a lot of this weather...
Either get out and shoot or stay in and do nothing...

Fabulous body angle and wing position.
I love rain and/or snow in images. It adds such a nice dimension and feel.
I like the popp of yellow in the BG and would burn or blur the OOF whitish branches.
Looking forward to you getting the "tack sharp" photo of this guy!
I agree with your own self-critique.

Living in Portland, I guess shooting in the rain is a given. I like everything about this except, as you note, the IQ of the bird. Keep at it; I know you will.

I think your being a bit over critical on your image....I think this is cool, yes the IQ could be better, try sharpening he head a little, but I think the bird flying towards us, compensates

    Nice

Yes to a great wing position. I find the yellow and the white branch distracting.

Do you use anything to keep the caemra dry?

Like the coming right at you pose. The rain is a big bonus.
