cruising the pond. About the nastiest looking Eagle I have seen.
Very aggressive hunter, a fun new addition to the area that I hope sticks around.

I like the image Dan, but not too happy about the processing, it looks a bit heavy handed. Possibly the ISO made life difficult? I would suggest going back to raw and if the exposure is good then readjust contrast. I feel the image is definitely worth working on.

    Dan:

Well framed, great head angle. Certainly does look fierce. I do have some of the same concerns about the final processing. I certainly understand how that ISO could cause some compromises. I normally don't like to shoot the D500 above 1600, and prefer 800 when possible.
Let's hope he gives you many more opportunities.

Great pose. Whites look hot on the head there. The image qaulity looks pretty good for the high ISO.

A pretty scruffy individual, well captured with great wing spread and flight angle. I'm also thinking the high ISO is the culprit, especially with a darkish image. But you do what you have to in order to get the shot. Maybe he'll be back on a brighter day.

    Exactly Bill, thank you.
I shoot almost daily, If I have to wait for good light I would hardly photograph at all...
I have no idea how many shots I would have missed waiting for the right sun angle and
    iso400 light...
    I would quit.
