Houston, We Have A Problem

I captured this image of a Great Egret at Circle B Bar Reserve in Polk County, Florida. I have never seen a egret flying with legs crossed before. I am not sure if the bird was injured. A unique flying posture that captured my attention. Technically a lot wrong with the image but I kept it because of the unique leg position. Comments and critique welcomed and appreciated.
