Osprey only migrate through Missouri so I'm lucky if I get 2 or 3 decent days a year of decent weather to figure out any type of feeding pattern and where to position myself. I know this is mediocre at best.
The font of the bird was shaded by the wings. I had to do quite a bit of dodging in that area. I thought it was interesting that it caught four fish at one time. Three in the right foot and one in the left.
I don't know if this is that uncommon. It was going after schools of shad. I didn't get a chance to see how it was going to land with all those fish.

Interesting shot and action Jack. Good detail but there is a heavy blue cast on the flight shot, particularly in the shadows.

Agree with Colin. I have had the same trouble with blue sky blue ,blue water and then blue on parts of the bird . Ospreys particularly. I seem to remember that Artie has an answer to that. Nice shot all the same.

Pretty interesting frame with all those small fish. The pose is nice and the head turn towards you. Yes it needs to be warmed up. Composition is right on.
