This is a bird which I have been wanting to photograph for a while. I was out photographing waders, when, on returning to where I was parked, I saw four Grey Partridges near to the vehicle. I couldn't believe my luck, as they are usually so difficult to get close to. I got myself into position and managed to get close to them, by hiding in some shrubs, and slowly crawling towards where they were feeding. They obviously never saw me, and I managed quite a few shots before they ran off into the undergrowth.

Lovely shot Will, as you say note an easy bird to photograph - or find! Looks good as is , you may wish to consider selecting the bird and making and adjustment layer - curves - luminosity and selectively pulling down a tiny bit, this makes it pop beautifully.

A nice shot of a tough species! We have these in Canada; they sometimes escape from someone's property in the countryside and set off the rare bird alert, but they usually only appear in the winter. Are they native to the UK and Europe?

Nice front-on but not harsh light, perfect BG, and all the details in the feathers come out.

Thanks Jake...yes these birds are native to the UK, but difficult to get close to. I think I got lucky here.
