    Default Snow Bunting

From Flatey Island in May. This appears to be non-breeding plumage, even though this was May and I photographed other Snow Buntings, male and female, in breeding plumage at the same location. Perhaps a 1st year bird??

Those beautiful colors and details really pop against the dark BG. Love the perch and overall composition as well. TFS

Looks too worn of a plumage too early in the season to be a young bird. Perhaps just an adult skipping the breeding season (for lack of better term). The BG is not as smooth as I would have preferred, but I love the rock perch. Good details on the bunting as well.

Looks great, Bill. Even what looks to be an insect in the beak. Great light and fine detail.

I like it, he looks as though he was catching flies going from his bill Bill!
My only suggestion would be a little eye doctoring.

Nice rock perch. The pose is nice and the background. Nice and sharp.

Thank you all. Yes, Daniel, I agree the BG seems a little coarse. And yes, Jonathan, I considered doing a little eye-MD work; should have done it.
