I was watching Mullet jumping in the lake, front of my place and unbeknown to me so was an Osprey. It suddenly appeared and grabbed one that must have been too lazily swimming close to the surface. I did get shots of the pickup but it was a bit far away and bird facing mostly away. But then the bird did a couple of very helpful victory laps before perching atop the mast of a nearby moored yacht to consume.

    Good one Colin.
I like the comp and the hint of clouds in the BG.
    Nice light too.
The eye has interesting red lines on the cornea. Never seen that before.

Light looks nice and that's a nice view of the fish. Fully raised wing is a big bonus.

What a great looking pose Colin....I also like your chosen crop, maybe a wee bit more LHS. On my monitor the bird appears to have a wee bit too much NR applied.

At iso1600 and a bird against the sky you would have used hardly any Noise reduction.
Nice pose and fish, I would redo processing and use no or a lot less NR.

Thanks for the comments. Dan, I should have noted that this was in low light immediately on sunset so the raw image was quite dull. Plenty of noise!

Nice one Colin! I agree with Dan...use less NR as the texture is a little smooth. TFS

love the pose, soft light and the fish, the NR is a bit too much and has smoothened the details...
