Taken this morning with the first real fall colors at my Duck pond so
I worked to get a nice Fall color BG for my Woodie shots of the day...
    Hope you like it.
BTW, if you like to photograph flying Wood Ducks and other flying ducks

Yes indeed, beautiful BG to show off this stunner. Love the details and colors and the overall composition(others may find it tight). Would like to see the shadows raised just a little more but love it as is. TFS

Excellente. I am not sure if I like the far wingtip so close to the bill-tip or not. Overall stunning and you got the purple cheek patch.

Love the sheen on this one. Nice detail and pose. Background is quite nice.

Sweet pose and awesome colors both on the bird and on the BG. I love the blues on the wingtips. These birds are so so tough with the exposure but if you can get a bit more detail in the whites on the face (possibly through double processing) I think that would add a lot. But this is something I have really struggled with in my encounters with these birds in this type of direct light. Love that we can see the purple around the tail. TFS

Another one of your well-trained ducks! A great shot with dynamic pose and fabulous colors. The shadows could certainly be lifted to bring yet more subtle colors out on the wings and tail.

Love the BG and the light.
I, like Artie, wish there was a bit more separation between the far wing tip and the bill.
I have a feeling you probably raised the shadows already and to suggest you lift them even more will likely cause a lot of noise.
I see a sharpening halo around the duck- most noticeable under the beak.
I love the blue in the near wing and the sharpness of the image.
If I am ever in Portland I will take you up on the invitation to your pond!! Thank you

Dan, Beautiful shot, ideally the far wing would be better a bit lower but hem, I'll take it. Super nice.
Also the few things Gail brought up.
