Gorgeous shot Jonathon! Love the perch and view of both legs (wish the far foot was visible but not a big issue). The pose is perfect and IQ is top-notch. No real nits from me.

Great frame. Love the pose and the rock perch. Sharp as all get out. Getting a hang of that new gear now, eh?

Nice one. Love the BG and perch. Bird looks good and love the 'perch'. Love that we can see the foot. Looks like you're settling into the new gear well. TFS

This is money, on par with your wonderful and similar Dunlin image from a few days ago. Details are as good as can be! I'd love to see more of the rock if you have it, but a really awesome result regardless!

I think this is the best of the bunch so far Jon, but feel you could loose a bit more off the top, find the format a bit awkward. I'm assuming f/5.6 is more on the 'old' format cameras Jon , are you still burring the backdrop?

Certainly the kit has advantages, how do you find the EVF, a bit funky I thought?

Thanks for the comments everyone, glad you liked it. yes I am pretty contented with the camera provided I accept the limitations compared to full frame, (high ISO is not practicable so 6400 is the suggested high limit but realistically it is probably more like 3200) the other side to the coin is that the camera does so much more, it is different technology.
The viewfinder is not so good as DLSR but having said that I no longer perceive any issues with it and where possible I use the rear screen, this actually saves battery power. I have it set so that if I use one or the other then the other cuts out. f5.6 is probably nearer to f8 equivalent on a full frame SLR.

Cheers Jon, I think the above now clarifies. Agree on the ISO, it's not a happy bunny above, but... also change in thinking in terms of format too.

The orange legs are great and the techs look good to me... I would add some blacks to the bird.
    Nice pose and perch.
