    Default Kruger Park Elephants

    Dear Friends,

I have just returned from a camping trip in the Kruger National Park. The place was very dry but unlike last September the rivers were still flowing. We were delighted to see the animals were in good condition and to encounter a great number of species. Lucky to observe some interesting interactions but unfortunately good photographic opportunities were scarce. Nevertheless I do have a few images to share, so here is one of three elephants crossing the river. The small ele was really cute and his facial expressions adorable. Not sure the little "mouse" was thirsty or just playing, he looked as if he was wasn't sure what to do with his trunk

Thank you so much for viewing and I hope you forgive my long absence here in the Forum. Your time to view and all comments/suggestions are as always much appreciated.

    Kind regards,

Hi Gabriela, nice to have you back and this is a lovely image to open up with.

Cracking detail with just the right amount of DoF. Love the antics of the calf and being 'bookended' by the adults also brings scale to the scene. The blue of the water adds a nice 'contrast' too, to the overall palette. I wonder if going more pano may help, loosing some of the dirt and so the crop is just a fraction below your signature? May be a bit more homework on the tonal range.

Hi Gabriela -- Great to have you back.

A lovely image to start with. I liked the scene with lovely colour in water and the Elephants have some super details, pretty nicely done on the field and off it as well. Loved the little ones pose , too cute i must say. Loved the light as well.

Pano crop works so well here .

    Enjoyed viewing this one.

    TFS !

Hi Gabriela, I like the the moment, my first reaction was to tone down the land above the river, the cropping has a similar effect, concentrating attention more on the elephants. I bet you have plenty more up your sleeve !

What a great view of these elephants. Really like the little one in the middle with the trunk and the water. Nice color overall in this one. Composition looks spot on as presented to my eyes. Lovely frame.
