Considered a highly desirable find by birders in my home state; but when found around the B&B where we stayed in a remote corner of Iceland in May, these guys were as common as Robins on a New Jersey lawn, .
Beautiful shot and bird! Love the setting and you got a great pose. The rain is a very nice touch. If you've brightened the iris, I'd maybe back it down a touch while increasing the exposure overall. Great work, Bill!
Ha ha Bill!! Don't tell everybody how easy it is to shoot these guys in Iceland!!
Nice image.
I would go 1/3 stop brighter.
Raindrops are nice.
I would clone out that bright horizontal grass in front of the bird. It pulls my eye away.
Sharpness and perky pose spot on!
Gail
The different grasses here make a lovely setting for this fellow's yellow accents and the snowflakes are a nice touch. The posture suggests she was quite alert to your presence.
Lovely grassy setting on this rainy day. The yellows on this individual look great! I'd darken the pupil if mine as it seems bright. Those robins are common on our lawns too!
Thank you all for looking and commenting. This was shot during a snow flurry on an overcast day, thus the somewhat dark appearance. In the repost I've removed an oof stem of grass that was catching the light (and Gail's eye), slightly darkened the iris, and slightly boosted the exposure.
