Hopefully Dorian Anderson will see this and weigh in on the ID, but this is not a Wood Duck I don't think.
    Taken this morning,
Not the first one I have photographed at my pond in Oregon.
Either escapees from somewhere or just blew in...
I wish a male would show up.

Hi Dan. This is wonderful! Good job. Such a soft, welcoming brown color. Love the wing position, parallel to sensor, sharpness (maybe just a touch more in the eye would do). Very nice background, and the colors compliment each other. Any cropping?

Beautiful against the green BG. A wee bit more head turn would have put this over-the-top, but I think anyone would love this in their files. It sure looks like a Mandarin Duck - a male juvenile....??

That green background is great. Like the pose. Slight head turn towards you would have been nice.
