    Default Black Kite closeup

Hi all. Following on from my Black Kite shot posted recently, here's the best I could do with a closeup. I wanted to get as close as I could as the bird flew towards me.
Would liked to have got better IQ and lower noise, the cropping not helping, but welcome feedback as always. Cheers.

A good try Paul but the IQ lets it down unfortunately. Next bit of kit for you would be a 500 mm prime!

    I agree on both counts.

It is intense, but the IG doesn't hold up. These have to be 100% perfect to justify cutting away so much of the subject. Some great action though!

Hi Dorian. I agree about the IQ. Actually I didn't cut away any of the subject. The raw file contained the bird as shown but in the lower right corner of the frame. The crop was only the sky on the upper left side. Cheers.

pose is intense but lots of noise and soft focus hold this one back, better luck next time!

Very striking pose Paul....I have to agree with Arash, noisy and soft, but I think you know that anyway.
