    I captured this image of a Great Blue Heron at Circle B Bar Reserve in Polk County, Florida. Comments and critique welcomed and appreciated. Thank you for viewing.

    Nikon 80-400mm F/4.5-5.6 VRII AF-S ED, image captured at 280mm
    1/2500 F/8 Matrix Metering EV -2/3 ISO 360 Auto 1 WB, camera supported by a monopod
    Post processed in Lightroom Classic, Photoshop CC 2019 and Neat Image for noise reduction
    Cropped slightly for composition and presentation

    Beautiful details and BG Joe! Love the S-shape of the neck. Great light. I'd probably warm the image up a bit as it seems a little too cool to my eye. The shadow is slightly unfortunate but not a major issue at all IMO. Nice work!

    Can't get much better detail than this, you must have been close! Maybe looking down on the bird a little much? Also, is the blue realistic for that environment?

    Beautiful light and detail. His scowl is great as well. I'd like to see more room to the left of the bird, and you might want to warm the image now and back BG and subject are very blue right now. Closing down to f/8 was a wise move.

    Nice tight clean portrait. Love the blue background. Sharpness is great as is the detail.

    Depth of the field is good.

    More space on the left would have been ideal. I agree with warming the image as well.

    Minor changes which will elevate the image more...
