Nice in your face portrait. The black and white treatment works very well. Brings out the roughness of this fella. Details looks nice.

I am not in the least squeamish (I have a medical and forensic background), but I am not too sure about this image. The detail is well shown but I wonder if it would be perhaps more acceptable/slightly more agreeable if the crop wasn't quite so tight? I suspect you will disagree because you have achieved the effect you wanted i.e. life is not exactly a bed of roses out there. The monochrome conversion looks very good to me, I would like to see the full frame in colour, i am guessing his mane is resplendent.

Hi Sanjeev, I quite like the conversion and going B/W may have taken away more of the 'gruesome' content? Like Jon, I'm not squeamish and have witnessed some of nature's harshest acts, but that is in context with the moment, however I'm always 50/50 when portraying animals with such scares, especially with such a majestic one, albeit - it is nature.

I like the tight crop and the BW conversion. A lot of nice shades of black and white across the frame. The eye is intense, but how it goes sometimes. Would be interested to see a color version (although I do really like the BW) as well. TFS
