    This is very good Geoffrey!
I would like a bit more room on the left if you have it.
Love the wing position and the slight head turn.
IQ looks good and nice and sharp. BG is nice and a bit different for Nickerson

I really like the BG, and the muted blacks really break up the greens and are a nice compliment to the skimmer who has good details. Yes more room on the left side would balance this out, well done!

Nice eye level view with great engaging look! More room on left for sure. I might warm the frame a bit as it is really cold now, and I would consider evening out the black across the bird (i.e darkening the wing is you've lightened it and maybe brightening the neck). Lighting conditions were tough, so you did well given the situation.

More room behind would be nice. Like the up stroke wing position and the background works well.

Thanks Dorian. I was thinking it needed more room on the left when I posted it. Popular consensus is for more room, which I added since that was the end of the left side of frame. Took your advice Dorian and evened out the black areas to a degree. Little tricky but I think your suggestion and my attempt at tweaking the far wing and the neck improved it. I also warmed the image a bit.

The repost strengthens the composition quite nicely. I like the profile flight path. Good job.

I like them both. Assuming you were facing east you did well with the backlight.
