after sean's bird, i was working on this one. what a pain in the rear!! it's a tuffy. i started shooting the snail kites in 12-bit mode as this one is. i have some in 14-bit mode that i have not looked at. hoping to have better quality with those.

Mr. Harold,
I like it, nice colors with sharp details. Love the soft pale blue sky. I would clone out the top of the branch on the lower right side of the frame that is just sticking out...Personal taste...:D good job buddy, keep them coming...
Harold - love the shape of the wings, open beak pose.
Would get rid of the branches - lower right, Have you used and shadow/highlight recovery??
I know some of these black birds can be really hard to shoot. What are you not happy about???
i think it's hard to replicate their true colors for one thing and having some detail for another thing. exposure was pretty close to being perfect and as soon as i tried to sharpen, i got tons of noise. so what you see is no sharpening. only the eye.
Hi Harold,
I've never seen one of these except for the images posted here and in the "big" forum and they lend themselves to a kind of artistic look. I like your image but might crop some off the bottom. BTW, I also like your suggestion for an ETL GTG and wish it were easily possible.
Looks fine to me and the colors look fine. Nothing for you to learn here; just keep making them like this. Love the raised wings of course, and the open bill.
