I really like the pose, the clean background and the interesting perch. My favorite aspect of the photo is the insects in the sparrows mouth. I always enjoy seeing the wide variety of insects songbirds feed on. The technical aspects look good to me.

Facial details good and the caterpillar is a pleasing addition, DOF is good for those aspects, I also like the perch and the background. For a few moments I wondered if there was a slight yellow cast but I think it's just an optical illusion.

Great alert pose, complete with catch. Lovely plain BG and nice perch. Amazing detail for 840mm HH @ 1/400. Well done!

Nice frame. Love the green background and that neat perch. The prey is a nice touch. Details look very nice.

HH vertical is impressive... Prey is nice. I would sharpen the feet a bit more.

There was surely a nest nearby with all those groceries accumulated in the bill. Pretty cool perch. Nice BG too. The raised crest shows the bird being aware of something (you?), but I like it. With these types of verticals I usually prefer the subject a tad higher in the frame - but a that is a highly personal preference choice on my part.

Well done Gail, I like the perch, insects, and the BG, the raised crest really sets this one apart for me. HH, go get em!

Such a sweet shot of this oft ignored species! So good to see it getting some lens time. I am envious of this one as I have nothing nearly this nice. I'd like to see the bird higher in the
frame so that we can see more of the amazing perch. Food delivery is the capper on this fine shot. Detail on the feet is a nice touch as well.

As am partial to perfect, I really like this one. Even the right-pointing leaf adds!
