Love all those long whiskers and that head on view. Composition looks right on as well. The earth tones are nice.

Beautiful head on shot with those really long whiskers showing nicely. Love the low POV and the perfect sharpness. TFS Andreas.

Nice work getting it in that little bit of shade! Love the look and the teeth showing through. F10 was effective here, and I know you were already pushing the ISO, but I'm wondering if a little more DOF would be better... or worse!

Too cute, Andreas! POV is great and I love the pose, typical of those ground squirrels as they scratch around to find a cool spot on the ground and then lie down.
Well exposed and colours are very accurate, considering lighting conditions. I am quite happy with DoF here as the subject is sharp where it matters most ( nose, whiskers and eyes)
Nicely framed and the BG looks great, what's not to like here Boetie? Although it does make me think of the Kalahari and my heart shrinks a little... I miss the place tremendously.
Thank you so much for sharing, and hope you have a great week ahead,
Kind regards,

Hi Andreas -- What a cracking portrait, I liked those impressive whiskers, adds grandeur to your little subject. Lovely soft colours and excellent details which are expected from your images. Very nicely done. I think you have done a great job with that tricky light.
I wished those tiny paws were not obscured by the stones but not a deal breaker.

Getting even lower and slightly looking up may have added to the low POV. Like it a lot, but would reduce the blue in the subject.
