Default One More Skimmer with Chicks

From Nickerson, 1 August. This one is full-width, with some taken off top and bottom for 9:16 pano. Nothing added or cloned. I liked the juxtaposition of the cozy chick tucked under the parent's wing, and the more active youngster on the right.

    D500, 500PF, ISO 1250, 1/2500s @ f/8 manual. Lowered Gitzo/Mongoose.

This is really nice! I was there last week as well but got sucked into flight work and ended up with zero chick frames. I am envious of this one, particularly the lack of cloning. What chicks i did see were mostly obscured by vegetation. I might lift the levels just a touch, particularly the blacks. But that's really minor. This is an excellent result.

Great image and you hit it on head the chick under the wing is so nice.Mom protecting her chick. Wish the other chick was a little more forward when it did the wing stretch. If any thing I would maybe clone the couple of grasses at the top of moms head. Love the grass sprig in front of the chick . TFS Bill

Can never have enough of these cuties, Bill. Love the tucked in chick, and the other testing its wings.
