A lioness watches her cubs at a distance just to ensure their safety. Minor crop for composition. Warmed up the WB a bit in DPP.

Hi Sanjeev, another lovely encounter and killer backdrop. Love the flies, typical, but for me, I do find the crop a little awkward. I would have preferred all of the back in rather than cutting through, perhaps a change of lens may have offered a better result? Colours and PP looking good to me.

Looks like the trip was a good one.

Hi Sanjeev indeed a nice one .
I do like the look out the frame and you left her some space .... luckily ... to look to .
Nice detail and color / tones combo .
I am ok with the framing though .

Depending on the time of shooting .... i might change the colors slightly , as the whites are carrying some blue/ cyan . And again i might drop the oranges .... already in DPP by -2 in sat and change the hue to +1 on every image that contains warmer colors . check it out !!!

Very nice portrait Sanjeev, I like the framing with her back angled, agree you could go a tad warmer, but feel the sharpening could be backed off a tad for mine.

Hi Doc -- I liked the framing here, including the back to a greater extent could be another option but this also works for me. Lovely bkg and nice details, like Marc, I also feel you could slightly back off on sharpening . Liked the colours as presented.

    TFS !

    Hello Sanjeev,

Apologies for my late 'arrival' here, having some technical issues at the pharmacy and for the past few days spending more time at work than at home. Wonderful sighting and I love that concentration from the lioness, good POV and background is great. I personally like the composition as well as head angle from the subject. Those flies must be such a nuisance for all wildlife!

Sanjeev, to me colours and tones look good overall. There is a tiny bit of blue cast on the whites of the muzzle and chest, but barely visible. You can, if you want to, lift the shadows and blacks on the nose to get even more detail, but not a big issue to me. Image is sharp with good detail and the relatively high ISO did not affect the image. If you applied some NR then it's done very well - nice PP work!
I am sure you must be very pleased with this, as well as other images from your latest trip - I certainly enjoyed viewing them all, many thanks for sharing

    Kind regards,
    Gabriela Plesea

I like this Sanjeev, details and colours look good to me, she looks very relaxed and yet alert. I like the composition though just wondering if a square format would also look good?

Love the flies and the alertness of this lion. Details look nice and the background is pretty sweet as well.
