Hi folks ... well i think a ´ marmite `shot .
Like it or not .... all about the action and the strong tightness of the frame . This bull offered me the option , still had to crop as this was shot in landscape and the orinal frame has too much space .
So i went for two options ..square and a 4x5 .
Pushed the contrast quite far ....what do you guys think ?

F 7,1 ; Iso 2500 ; 1/2500 sec ; with hindsight i should have gone for more DOF but it is ok for me as presented .

Thanks for looking and commenting to my previous posting .
Hi Andreas, great encounter, but it's not really working for me. The light is wrong I feel, creating an almost mid tone, flat image, there's no real Tonal range as such, for me it's all 'in the middle', which surprises me with your adjustments. This is still not right because of it needs more 'guts' IMHO, but it might be a direction... or not? A little clipped in the darks, but.
Thanks Steve.... yep your version has more impact
Indeed it was somehow flat .... tried but did not want to go too far ... should have done it myself .
An interesting image and I like your playfulness and experimenting.
Not sure it would look better in B/W... but worth a try? I like Steve's RP, at the same time thinking the "clipped" blacks would be even more acceptable in B/W.
And I prefer the square crop here because it allows for more of that mud spray, which is what this frame is all about
A fun image, so good of you to explore the possibilities out there. Makes me think I must get out of my "box"
Hi Andreas -- Difficult shot to make. I liked what you were trying and Steve's RP has that punch and out there on the field I might also try something like this if opportunity comes my way but not everybody's cuppa.
