Very nice Geoffrey! Looks like you guys had a good time. I wish I could have joined you.
Lovely incoming pose with great DOF through the head and beak and fish. Nice and sharp.
I quite like the way the wing position mirrors the BG grasses and horizon line although some may wish you had the bird more squarely in the grasses or sky.
I see some noise in the wings which is an easy fix.

Hello Geoffrey, Nice and sharp, good positioning, like the fish, and the tall grasses muted by the BG colors are very nice. Well done looking forward to more from our shoot.

Looking real good....Great POV and those grasses really set the scene here. Prey adds with a nice flight pose.

How nice is this! I would suggest a slight boost in saturation to make the colours pop more, but other than that all looks great to me.

Yes, having the bird all in the sky would have been better, but I quite like it as presented. Especially the soft light. You might wish to lose the single strand of yellow grass that is almost touching the bill.

What was the skimmer chick situation?

Love that wing position and fine feather detail. The fish is great and I love seeing one of these above land for a change. Right wing intersecting may not be optimal, but I really like the greens and yellows.

Really nice pose and colors. I like the wing on our right going into the green, as you see more of the shape of the end of the feathers.

Good one, Geoffrey. Often they were either too high to get a sense of the grassy habitat, or so low they buried themselves in the grass; your timing was perfect. I might have been tempted to lift the mid-tones in the underwings just a tad t give it a little pop, but this is probably the way it appeared in that light.

I agree with all the kudos mentioned. Fine shot.
There is some noise on the wings no one mentioned. Easy to smooth that out.

Thanks everyone and for your suggestions. This was the quality of the early evening light and I wanted to best represent it. Artie in answer to your question re skimmer chicks, I was very pleased & lucky to see several different families.

Very nice. The blue and the green go great together. The fish is a bonus as well.
