    It's that time of year where there is a short window of opportunity with these guys over here, especially the adults still bearing breeding plumage. I was more than happy to crawl in muck and water to get closer, and then spend the better part of an hour with a pair of them.

    Canon 7DII + 500mm f/4 II + 1.4TC III, manual exposure, evaluative metering, 1/2000s., f/5.6, ISO 800, natural light, handheld, about 80% FF, removed part of another gull poking in at right edge.

    Really like the pose and the light here and the low angle is awesome. My only suggestion would be to pull back the highlights just a tad, other than that really nice shot!

    Gorgeous gull and gorgeous frame. Love the pose and how the birds head is just above the water. Very nice.

    Very Nice Image. Nice clean background and the point of view really helps.

    I could see another version with wings full up.
