Just back from another amazing trip to South Luangwa & Vumbura plains.

    With one highlight being:

A 5 month old lion cub, relaxes under another glorious winter sunset in Zambia's South Luangwa Nat Park.

Captured using an L bracket, flipped monopod and CamRanger remote, F/F, curves, levels, TK adj's, in PS CC'19 & ACR.

    Nikon D810
    Tamron 24-70 f/2.8 G2
    f/6.3 -1.33EV
    fill flash (rear curtain) -1.7EV
    1/250s
    ISO125@ 70mm.

    Cheers

Love the color in that sky. Nice pose on the cub it's probably wondering what that thing is. More room below would have been nice easy to say that now.

Masterfully done. Really like this technique shooting back to the sunset with fill flash, the low POV with the camranger as well, terrific.

Hi Marc -- great to have you back, your exceptional images were missed here.

Superb field work and loved the framing and scene. nicely exposed and processed. Only nit from me is the second lion in the bkg but can understand how difficult it is to execute such kind of shots.

    Nicely done.

    TFS !

Hi Marc, love the scene and the technique you used. Wonderful exposure using fill flash and wider angle. Agree for more room below and the second lion in frame. But not a big issue at all. Great work!!

    Hello Marc,

Welcome back, and I take it this was a successful trip, as usual

Love the expression on the little cub, very sweet. Beautiful sunset colours. POV is great. The other lion on the RHS is not too obvious, I just wish you had a tad more space at the bottom.

Well captured and processed Marc, and I gather this is just a tidbit, a 'taste' of what we can expect to see over the next few weeks...Looking forward to more

    Kind regards,
    Gabriela Plesea

Hi Marc ... lovely image with a priceless good expression in the cubīs face . The sunset .... very nice . Fill flash .... well top notch .
If being picky .... i would wished a different crop / framing , without knowing if this was possible . Just moving the whole set up to the left would have worked better .... easy to say from my comfy chair ...LOL .
Nevertheless a very good image , great field work .

    TFS Andreas
