Default 'On the rocks' - part 3

Again, continuing Haseeb's theme of 'On the Rocks', here is another frame of one of the three cubs of Krishna's, but this time mobile, after the other two cubs went of to play in the grasses. The difference here is that I used a CPL filter to punch up things as the light became richer, adding more depth to the pool of water too. The angle is deceptive, still shooting down.

Thanks to those who posted or viewed on the last posting.

The overall setting is very nice. Like the reflection in the water. Details look great. Interesting you used a polarizer.

John, I'm only trying to make folk think, as it's not just about the techs at times. I'm geared up far more for this next trip and want to really push things a lot more if circumstances are on offer, good or bad, but I too need to stretch far more.

Gorgeous tiger and colours Steve. The habitat is nice and the water just adds that much to the image.

    Good evening Steve,

Before I even looked at your introduction my first thought was "what awesome light here". I have never used a CPL filter but now I would very much like to try it, hopefully uncle Nikon will be so kind to lend me one for the next trip:)

Love the rich colours and warmth in this frame and composition is great. I realise you were shooting down but POV still looks good. Nice walking pose from this subadult, beautiful surroundings, pretty cool to see the subject's reflection in the dark water, quite subtle but it's there

Always inspired by your experiments, but there's only one problem... when they involve new gear, I crave new gear too...

Hope you have a lovely rest of the evening, thank you so much for sharing!

    Warmest regards,
    Gabriela Plesea

Hi Steve -- I really liked the warm light and colours nice to see a different approach from you. But content wise the lack of eye contact doesn't grab me here, Sorry.

@ Steve : The tiger with its head downwards and standing awkwardly doesn't look appealing to me. I would have rather preferred a the head angle toward the camera or atleast an upward glance to say the least.

Thanks Haseeb, but I don't feel every image requires eye contact, it all depends on the whole context of the image.

Absolutely Steve, as we all see things differently may be in a similar situation I might have not pressed the shutter in anticipation of a head turn and altogether missed taking a frame. That is why I guess this art form is so subjective.
