Wish I had your balcony... really nice image. Wing position for a topside is just about perfect, whites, blacks and grays look good. Thank you for sharing, Will.

Beautiful topside detail across the entire bird is not an easy result to achieve, and he gave you a perfect direct state to complete the image. Exposure looks good. Bird is rather cramped in frame, specifically on the left side. I'm not a huge fan of the gray background, especially as it transitions form gray to more gray, but that's often the nature of flat light shooting.

Spectacular banking capture, William. I'm as envious as Joe that you have this balcony and a sighting as this. Wonderful wing extension, fanned tail, and head position.

Great dorsal look in a handsome comp, with good eye contact. I rather like the grey background. I can imagine you spend a lot of time on your balcony; I certainly would.

Love the fanned tail and the topside view.
I am quite OK with the grey BG.
IQ looks excellent.

The dorsal view is great. Also love the pose. The gradient in the background is nice as well.

I've said this before, but to me, anytime you take an 'everyday' bird and make a shot that gets you to take repeat looks at it then you've done a good job. I like the angle and the wing spread, and the fanned tail finishes things off nicely

Hi Will, like the pose and I think you could play with the BKG to give more pop to the subject, but being overcast was a plus. I'm surprised you shot at f/5, but... sharpness appears better from middle to back, where did you have the FP? Whites look really nice, but did you lift the mid/darks in the plumage? Might suggest on going a tad looser on the crop to allow the subject to breathe.

Hi Steve, Thanks for that...I did lift the darks in the plumage slightly. The FP was on the back, between the head and tail... I thought someone would spot that

LOL Will, yes the darks just look a bit more 'gritty' for ISO640, re FP either have them ahead of centre, or the camera a bit more ahead, easier said than done.
