Can you spot the reason for my title?
    ISO 800 SS 1/640 F 6.3
    Canon 1DX, 600mm v3 and 1.4xv3
Cropped from landscape but full vertical- no room above or below. Nothing added or cloned.
The little bits on the black feathers are sea lice.
Comments and critiques always appreciated and learned from with thanks,
    Gail

Looks good! I like how the very tip of the bill is delicately preening the feathers. Good head angle, and the wing is opened just right. Perch and BG look good as well. I'm glad you left the reason for your title intact!

Beautiful shot Gail! Great detail in the blacks, nice HA and super clean BG. Love the tiny 'detail' mentioned in the title

Beautiful Gail, I like the contrast, colours and tones, the pose shows interesting behaviour, the rock and background contrast nicely with the puffin. I also liked the title (yes I spotted the mossy!)

Excellent pose, color, and detail. I especially like the way you been able to bring out nice detail and maintain color in the black plumage. That said, applying some digital Lindane to the sea lice might improve the image.

Very nice. Not the typical puffin image you see. The vertical crop is nice. Like the preening pose. Background is great.

Like this a lot, Gail. Great look at the different tones in the black feathers. Love the preening pose, and that you left the bug.

Yea, this is really lovely, Gail! Lovely pose, and the feather detail across the bird is excellent. I am a sucker for seeing scaly feet, and this passes that test (bug too)! His face is stereotypically sweet, so that words as well. A real winner!
