    Default Buff-tailed Coronets

Another heavily set-up shot from Colombia, also in the Central Andes above Manizales.

Yes, the right bird is ever-so slightly sharper, but the interaction is what makes this shot for me (and hopefully you).

This is another flashed image (see catchlights below treeline in eye), though I think less obviously so than my previous post of this species.

I DO NOT have the canvass to make this a landscape/horizontal as I was set-up for a near-full frame vertical of the right bird when the left
bird came in. Tried to rotate after a few vertical frames, but they both flew off after about a 1.5 seconds.

Canon 600mm f/4 IS II on EOS 1DX2
    1/100 at f/9, ISO 1600, flash
Processed in LR CC. Bit of extra sharpening to left bird's face.

Excellent. I love the way that they gave you front and back views, with good eye contact on both. Well done.

This is fantastic Dorian. You are too hard on yourself re: self-critique.
The IQ, BG and perch all rock.
Birds are within DOF and your techs rock.
    Love those little feet!

Wow, very nice indeed! I love all those greens and the perfect dual head angles. Perfect perch. Personally I would remove those catchlights as they are a bit too prominent IMO, and I would have preferred the subjects a little lower in the frame. Boy-oh-boy I'd have been thrilled with this frame!!

This is perfect Dorian! Love everything about this shot. The orange on the left bird is awesome.

Excellent image and you've done a really good job on the left side. This is a case where Topaz AI clear might actually sharpen and re-create what you have on the right bird. If you have access to this software, I would consider it. At least have a look at what it does.

Nice how the bills almost touch. The background is great also love that lichen. Both birds look pretty sharp to my eye.
