    Default Theme: Red-Legged Honeycreeper

This is about 30% of full frame so the detail could have been a little better. This Red Legged HoneyCreeper is feeding on a banana at a feeding set up in Costa Rican cloud forest. This is supposed to be a theme image but I can't figure out how to edit the title.

Iso-800, 500 mm PF, F8, 800th, D 500, no flash, handheld, 30% of full frame, overcast with sun breaks, the only sharpening here was TK sharpening actions at 10%, noise reduction through DxO photo lab for the bird and Nik define for the background.

Hi Moe, awesome looking bird. IQ looks pretty good for the large crop. A slightly better head angle would help IMO, but not a deal breaker as is. I would reduce the contrast and saturation, although without seeing the bird I can only guessing -- just the feet and greens like a bit heavy. Did you clone something on the left hand side? If so, just a bit of a texture change on the perch that could be fixed. TFS, cool look a bird I've never seen before,

Love the colour on this one. Nice pose, another vote for reducing the contrast, I would also reduce the greens. Nice looking bird.

Pretty shot. Sharp and colorful. I would work on the eye a bit.

Highly detail view of this striking bird. Love the feet! These colors really crack, but I think you could bring the saturation in the whole frame down just a touch. Leave the eye - that's what they look like under cloud and canopy in the tropics. I can see - in his eye - that there isa man-placed perch just above this feeder, but removing that reflection isn't going to fool anyone; this is a set-up shot, pure and simple. That's not bad. It is what it is. I do wish for a bit more head tilt and direct eye contact.

Agree with the others about the saturation. But what a colorful looking bird. Nice pose and background as well.

I love these birds and they are so nice to see in CR.
I agree that the saturation of the greens needs to be toned down.
I would loosen the crop. It feels a bit tight to my eye.
Did you clone something on the left above the branch?

Thanks everyone for the tips.. Here is a repost with decreased contrast, decreased saturation. No cloning in LLQ but it was a bright spot which I corrected.

You already got some good advice, so I will not repeat. Neat bird with a good green BG. whatever you did on the branch at left would be worth reworking as the texture does not match. I've edited the title for you
