    Default Pied-billed Grebe Goes Fishing

I'm always amazed at the size of the fish a Pied-billed Grebe can haul in while trying to catch a meal! Somehow this fish managed to escape from the Grebe, but it sure looked like a goner as the Pied-billed Grebe floated by.

Beautiful clean image, good shooting angle and prominent clear eye, an momentous prey item, couldn't really ask for more! Super shot - oh yes love the water too!

Lovely shot! Agreed with everything Jonathan has mentioned above. Great HA. I like the water droplets on the bird and the reflection is killer!

What makes this for me is the water. The fish in the beak is really fascinating with respect to color and texture. Nice detail throughout the image.

What a catch. Love the painterly water and the surface tension not yet breaking where the grebe is pulling the fish. Drops of water on the grebe are great too. TFS

The water is gorgeous... makes the image. Grebes can eat anything, I am never surprised..

Water and prey combine to make this a beautiful image. Perfect eye contact as well.

    This is wonderful Doug.
The water texture and pattern are special.
The fish adds a nice bit of color to the lovely brown palette.
    Perfect HA and lovely light.

Hey Doug! Amazing image here. Everything looks perfect. I especially like the "brushstroke" water texture. Lovely light and warm tones as well.
