What a beauty, Mervyn! I love the BG as it really makes the bird pop. Nice light on the subject. Love that crest. I would maybe raise the shadows on the wings as they seem too dark on my screen. More DOF would've been nice as I recently learned on my post. Overall, amazing work!

Nice portrait. I've always preferred the blues of water as a backdrop over the blues of the sky. Generally not a big fan of juvenile images but this guy/gal is cute.

Detail in white feathers is nice.

Detail on the bird is nice as is the light. Maybe a touch more room above. The bird is nice and sharp as well.

This is a rally nice portrait, Mervyn. Super sharp and loads of feather detail throughout! Yellow beak cracks on that smooth blue BG too! Agree with a touch more room above, and maybe clone on the sun's secondary reflection on the water in the dark part of the eye. Otherwise ready to go!
