Shot whilst out photographing the Grouse in the morning. Light was not ideal as the mossy grass retained a lot of small HL's and some heat haze, but... one small mound removed as it was just a bit too dominant. The shooting ISO was certainly better than in the last posting of the Jungle Babbler, however at ISO2500 certainly no need for any NR or blurring.

Thanks to those who posted or viewed on the last posting.

I love the bird's pose in this picture because we get a great view of the crest and the feet. As you've mentioned, the light is the biggest problem in this picture. It's just too harsh and if I'm right, the bird's back-lit at a steep angle. The processing is good considering the ISO - no visible noise in the shadows - and the detail's definitely there. Pity about the light. Hope you get this bird again in ideal conditions

    Hi Aditya, wouldn't disagree.

It was just one of those moments where the subject stood for a few seconds and I thought - 'I'll have a pop and worry about anything at PP stage'. Yep they will be around I'm sure, lets see what next week brings after our staggering heatwave we are current experiencing!!!

The pose on the bird is spot on. Detail looks great. The composition is nice as well. Background is another plus.

I like the pose and the perfect HA, good depiction of habitat the soft light helped but wish the sun was behind your neck ans stronger to bring out the iridescence more. agree with eye doctor idea

Lovely image of this Lapwing, Steve.

Well exposed despite difficult lighting conditions and colours are superb. Great detail in those feathers.

Well composed, nice choice of DoF and perfect head angle, this works for me as presented

    Warmest regards,
    Gabriela Plesea
