It had been a few years since I photographed this species as my spot for them has since been closed off. There is another spot just outside of town that has them as well, so I paid them a visit...they did not disappoint!

Canon 7DII + 500mm f/4 II + 1.4TC III, manual exposure, evaluative metering, 1/1600s., f/5.6, ISO 1600, naturallight, handheld, full-frame, some debris removed from the moss via spot and clone tools. Shadow on the belly lifted via dodging. Audio used to encourage the sparrow onto the moss.

Nice singing pose on this sparrow and i like the moss covered perch. I would clone those grasses on the bottom right to make that background silky smooth. Nice frame.

What a beauty! Just look at that puffed out chest! I don't mind those faint bits of grass, just shows how tastes vary.

Superb pose, excellent capture, down to the mm separation between the tail and the perch.

Nice pose, BG, perch, and calling action. Love the hint of grasses at the base. Eye looks great. TFS

Very pleasing light, color, background, perch, and calling pose. No nits here.
