    Lovely shot John! Lots to like in this image. Nice wing position, soft light, simple background. I like how the tern pops out against the green bg. I would perhaps crop it a touch more from the bottom to make the bird larger in the frame. Slightly brightening the eye to make it stand out a bit more is a possibility.

    Another vote for Adytya's suggestions. The eyes on these birds are extremely difficult to capture well. The light has to be hitting it just right.
