Great colors on this one and I like the splayed pose. Looks like it could use another round of sharpening. Well done

HI Joe, First off congratulations on your gallinule Audubon award! That must be very rewarding for you, congrats! I like this image with only the leaves and the bird. The attentive stare at its "post" is so gallinule. I'd suggest more sharpening especially the head area. TFS

The frontal view of the Gallinule surrounded by luscious greenery is lovely, and the toenails penetrating the leaves is a great addition. The focal point appears to be somewhere other than the head, but perhaps some additional sharpening there could do the trick.

Although the gallinule is very pretty, this image image is all about the fantastic big-leaf habitat! What a fantastic setting. I agree the subject could use another round of sharpening.

Congrats on the Audubon award! Well done.
Looks like the head of this gallinule was just outside the DOF and is not quite sharp.
I love the way the foot is splayed onto the leaf. But I agree with Daniel that it is the big leafy environment that is appealing.

Thanks everyone for viewing and commenting. I'll take another go at the image, I had used a different workflow on this image. Back to my normal workflow. Thanks again everyone.

Those big leaves really make this one. Like how the bird is just standing on them hanging out.
