    Default White-faced Heron

This bird was making a small profile with feathers tight and keeping a close eye on a White-breasted Sea Eagle quite high overhead.

Neat looking heron. View of the feet is nice. Too bad you couldn't have gotte any lower. Would have had a nice blue water background. This is still nice.

Love this bird, a new one for me. The techs are perfect and the bird is loverly.

Could you have gotten lower? Perhaps one foot lower would have eliminated the BKGR rock ...

What a beautiful, must be cousin, to our great blue heron. While lower might be better, this beauty pops off the gorgeous BG as is. Love this canvas overall and would like to see one some day. Till then, TFS

Detail/exposure on the subject look great, but I agree a lower angle would have offered a more artistic rendering. Still a very nice shot as is!

David, This species would seem to me to be much more closely related to our Snowy Egret -- note the slim bill and build.

I stand corrected. Seeing your image(30000th post), that inspired me so long ago, brought back great memories. While the bumbling student still, your photography skills are surpassed only by your teaching prowess. More please...

Very good solid image of a lovely heron.
Yes, to getting lower to eliminate that rock in the BG but otherwise pretty nice!

Thanks everyone. Given the location I was about as low as I could get. Having been bashed (advised) about POV over the years I am always getting down as far as possible!
