Default Arctic Tern and Field of Buttercups

I was sitting in a roadside ditch photographing terns in flight when this guy landed on a post about 20 feet away.
This image is not for those who are afraid of color!!
This is FF with a sliver of canvas added on the LHS and top.
I did reduce the saturation of the yellows slightly (thinking of you Dan K.!)

Looking forward to seeing what you guys think of that yellow! Yeah or Nay?

Yay for the yellow - and everything else for that matter - great pose and I always love it when you get a view of the tongue as well. A really minor nit would be to try and enhance the catchlight a little but otherwise I really like this one

The pose on the bird is great. Also really like the background. The yellow looks fine to me. More room at the top would have been nice but you already addressed that.

Haha spokestern for “suck it up buttercup!” I like the yellow and the tern’s announcement. Maybe more canvas and I like mikes idea for a little eye work. Good weathered post too!

I agree on about enhancing the catchlight, a minor feature that I do all the time....
Yellow looks very nice with the Tern.

Excellent pose, detail, color, and background. I agree about enhancing the eye and catch light.

The yellow is a terrific BG for this with the brilliant oranges Gail and I love the way it segues into tawniness at the top half. Nicely timed on the wing stretch and big squawk. You had a lot of brilliant white here and you have nailed the exposure while still preserving detail in the black cap. A big Yeah!

It's a yeah from me too Gail. That BG compliments the bird so well.

Love the bird and the pose and the (yellow) BKGR. Would add some more room above and behind. Was the post crooked in the ground?

Looks great on the yellow, and the calling pose adds some nice action. Details/exposure is spot on. I agree he/she could use more room (which you don't have !), but I don't think you should add/change catchlight. It was obviously cloudy and a catchlight will look phony.

I personally love the yellow. Perfect wing position and calling pose. A beautiful frame.

This is a beauty Gail...Love the BG colours which show the bird perfectly. Good detail on the whites. Lovely pose and HA.
