Nice low angle and you were close. Sweet light and exposure for all those blacks and whites. The walking pose and spot on framing also add to the canvas. What, no RWBBs at the beach... TFS

nice lose up details, the wave in the BG are a bit distracting and I wish there was more separation between the feet

Love the subject and the prey. The mud drop adds some interest.
I would clone out the 4 dark spots in the FG and crop up a bit from the bottom so that the foreground wave starts at the LLC.
I would also rotate slightly CW.
Good IQ on the OC. I am OK with the 2 catchlights but could also see a version with the second catchlight removed.
    Nice low POV.

Nice shooting angle, I think you could lower the exposure a tad.

Looking nice John.. Good control of the blacks/whites with nice detail. I like the colours and POV.

Bubbly surf is great, prey item is nice, and the bird looks great (color, detail, exposure). Might be a few very minor hot spots on the breast, but those are very difficult to avoid when shooting the high contrast birds in sun. Low angle is what I'm talking about.

Those few white hotspots should be easy to fix in post, especially during raw conversion. Otherwise excellent frame. I love the food item and drop falling from it. Looks like this OC is missing a toe nail!
