This is a Parachromis loisellei in my pond in the yard. Was just playing with my underwater housing and she wondered what the heck that giant eyeball was staring at her. She held her ground though, just like a good mother. She was spotlit, but I darkened the background even more.
Good composition Paul. Good use of a diagonal - both the fish and the lighting leading from the bottom right into the image. Opposite how we read so adds tension and drama to the image.
I too like all the little fish - like small versions of her.
