    Default Harrier in last light

This is another frame of the juvenile NH photographed last last year on CA coast. These harriers blend in quite well with the environment, especially the juveniles. The feathers are very soft and lack the patterns seen on the adult birds. With time the chest will become more pale, pupil will become yellow and the under wing rust will darken. This one was taken just before sunset

shot with the D850 and 600 /4 E FL + TC-14E III. ISO 1600 f/5.6 at 1/2500 sec. hand held processed with C1P hope you like it

Another winner from you Arash. Despite the similarity between the BG and the bird it works so well. Love the detail, HA and composition. I will say that the body below the wings seems a little soft to me, but it's probably my eyes. I recently saw a Spotted Harrier at one of my favourite spots, a lifer for me, but didn't get a shot worth posting. TFS

    Beautiful bird Arash!
I really like the composition, the colors and how the bird is blending with background. Question. Is it a big crop?

    TFS!

Thanks Paul, it is not your eyes that's how this bird looks like.

Thanks Florin, it is not a large crop. In fact nothing is a large crop for the D850 :)

Lovely colours and just right head turn Arash. It's nice to see the orange colouration due to the sunset light. I often wonder whether I should tone down the saturation on that with these birds.

Someday I will get quality shots like these. Very nice, Arash. Splendid tones & detail.
