    Default Another OC with Clam

Another from Nickerson Beach Yesterday. I decided to post this one.........even though the wing position is less than ideal ........even for me.......but the clam & bill position are better than my first. The "almost" shot of the day from yesterday........was a top view vert with full wingspread.........clam in this position..........but major clipped wing tip.........*@!%*.........yeah I can rebuild it.......but man it would have been sweet to nail it!
Canon Mark 3 at ISO 800 and the Sigma 300-800mm @ 800mm at f7.1 and 1/3200 sec. all mounted on tripod with wimberly head. Crop from Horiz....to full frame vert.

Roman you are definitely on a roll with these oystercatchers. Another Superb image with a good topside view and of course the clam puts it over the top. big congrats !!!!

Lovely Roman!! Excellent timing and the wings don't bother me at all! I would remove the two water drops. Keep up the good work!

Wish for bottom wing spread. It would have been wonderful and well balanced image.

Eye contact and BG are great in this one. I agree on the wing position and there is a slight sharpening halo around head and clam.

Yes, the wing position is not the best you could wish for, but the head with the clam make up for it Roman, great image!

WOW! What else can I say? I think the clam position sends this one over the top too Roman.
    Nice catch. For both.

The quality of postings is getting very very high indeed, this is great, but I think the first was better. I would not wish to be image of the week judge for this week!

PDG and way better than anything I have on these guys in flight but I prefer the first one. I just cannot live with the position of the near-wing. Was this a VERT ORIG?
