You can all blame Julie for this.:)
Followed her basic B&W instructions then selectively lightened some faces and necks the did a bit of this and that, other suggestions she made and this is what I came up with.

Is this the ambiance challenged image ?

I like the idea but rather start with a less contrasty image Would like to be able to see some detail in the faces and if memory servers me the original just had some. With the conversion I'm also getting a different crop, for some reason seems to look better with less perch? The other looked just fine with it !!!

For my taste, I like the other one better. Seems like the color on the perch adds to the image.

I agree that it didn't convert quite as well as I would have liked but now you know how to do this! One thing you might try is cutting the top and bottom off and doing it ina pano size...that might be interesting.

Good try Nonda and now you know how to find the OOTB forums! :D

Rather lost track here, sorry! Might have converted better if I knew what I was doing:o Thanks Julie, yes I know how in theory, now just some practice.

Well, I'm sure every had valid points to make about this shot, Nonda, but I really really like it!! Those birds look very vulture-like, for sure! I'm not normally a great fan of B&W but this one does it for me!
