    Default Green-winged Teal

We have 3 bachelors on our pond this summer (a first for us).
They are not overly skittish so I have been able to get into the pond (with my waders) with them. They do not fly off but drift away and then slowly make their way back to my side of the pond.
It has been fun to watch them as they seem to practice courtship rituals with one another- a lot of head bobbing and preening and tail wagging.

    ISO 1250 F 6.3 SS 1/1250 Taken at ~7:00AM
Small crop, levels, texture slider +8 (I am digging that new slider in LR- works on fine details better than clarity slider I think). NR to BG. NIK DE/TC at 25% opacity and I smoothed out an area in BG on the shoreline above the head.
Burned the creamy patch on flank ( it was overexposed in the RAW).
I did not have to do any water clean up-it really was this color.

I knew the Teal would come back. This is lovely. Beautiful light, nice detail on the bird. Great water color. I could imagine a pano crop with a bit off bottom, maybe top. But I suspect you left it like this to show off that beautiful water.

Stunning image, Gail. What a beauty he is, and the water is equally exquisite.

Gorgeous light and you seem to have taken to that new combo like - well, a duck to water!

The bird is just a little high in frame for my taste, otherwise spot on

Lovely colors throughout and I love that water. Nice pose and details on the duck. Composition works for me. Really like the ripples. TFS

Excellent colours and overall IQ. "Sublime" has already been used twice before me, so can I still use that again? OK. Sublime. You must have had a great time in that pond of yours!

Lovely image, about as perfect as possible. Love the colors of the bird and background. Top shelf, thank you for sharing.
