One of the main reasons we chose to go to Iceland in May was to see the Barrow's Goldeneyes in breeding plumage, before they went into molt and made themselves scarce. Conditions were tough, but we did get some keepers. This was shot on the Laxa River near Lake Myvatn.

Well captured Bill....Lovely flight pose and what a great head turn you got. Nice details on the bird considering the conditions... Well done

Nice exposure on the golden eye Bill and you captures the iridescence as well. Sharp and i like the water drops as well. That's some shutter speed! Good job here.

I'll say that's a keeper, Bill. Love the wing position, drops of water, beautiful detail, and nice duel shades of iridescence. Well done.

Perfect exposure and focus against a classic BG Bill. Capturing the light in the wings and and the white feather detail along with the sheen on the head really makes this image striking .

Nice to see the iridescence on the head. The bird is nice and sharp. Like the composition as well.
