While driving up a rocky dirt road almost 3 weeks ago, on the Langanes Peninsula, Iceland we spotted a pair of Rock Ptarmigan not far off. I stopped the car, we got our gear and proceeded to walk along side and below them. Very rocky terrain with mosses growing all around. Their favorite habitat. C&C welcome.

Quite an experience to see these guys in courtship plumage in their tundra habitat. Image shows it all very nicely. One of the trip's highlights, for me. Nice work spotting them while navigating the vehicle over the rough Langanes track.

Really like the setting here. The composition works well. Like the pattern on the bird and the red/orange above the eye.

Great habitat image! The only thing I would have done is point your lens a bit more (enough to hide the oof rock at bottom right). Good job with the whites. You did really well with a very enjoyable image to view.
