Hi Jon, I like this , sq crop works well, very nice ff detail and the few raindrops along w one on the head are sweet. Perch is interesting and the gap was just enough for the pose here. Help me what kind of camera is the E-M1X, gone are the days when it was mostly Canon or Nikon! All looks real good.

Hi Jon...Looking good. Lovely detail and I like the colours throughout the image. Nice natural looking perch. The rain drops add. It's not a Robin though...It's the same up here, rain, rain and more rain.

Nice shot and I can identify with your frustration! I'm glad Will commented about the ID, it looks like a finch masquerading as robin, not that I know the birds of that part of the world.

    Default Sparrow

I am losing my marbles! It is a sparrow, I was going to post a robin but decided to post the sparrow first.

Hi Jon, nice capture of the species and I like the perch and complementary background. I might go f/5.6 on this, but negilable, not higher,as the DoF would just swallow up the rain, however if possible going less on the SS ie 1/60 - 1/200 as this will then dictate the type of rain falling ie streaks or drops, but stick it on a solid mount, non of this HH bit . I know you like to push what the IS hype says, but here I would go for a support.

Overall a bit too much yellow I think and if you are playing with Contrast, Texture and for Clarity I might rebalance. Texture & Clarity work in different ways and so you need to be aware of how they work and how it affects things, as you can easily compound things and why this may be illustrated in the Contrast range within the image?

Perhaps something like this Jon, where everything is a little more softer in it's look & feel, just a thought.

    Yes wouldn't argue.

Oh ye have little faith, for the moment I strongly disagree.

I think it's better, albeit a tad more cooler (compare the eye, see how much blue there is in your RP) but... the cropping, I much prefer the OP.

Whilst away Jon doing the Hares I have made a massive change to the WF and where now the WB is far more accurate and so the Colour management is more 'manageable' in direction, but the key point is in the accuracy with the eye dropper. This is why no Workflow never stays the same, it's constantly fluid and adapts to learning and updates. However you have chosen the route of the camera, I have gone via PP, but put the two together...

The cooler look was intentional, and yes I too constantly review videos for processing, I haven't chosen camera over processing or vice versa..... you are putting words into my mouth
