Default Michigan Loon chicks riding the 'bus"

The loon chicks on one of the lakes that I follow hatched on 6-3. They were three days old in this photo. After some swimming and being fed, they climbed up on mom for a relaxing cruise. They will get to ride for a few more days before they are evicted and have to paddle on their own.

    D4. 600 f/4 at f/5.6. ISO 500. 1/800 second .

    Shot from my little boat.

Post: Slight crop to level and for comp. Cleaned up pupil from second catchlight.

    Advice and comments always appreciated.

    Cheers

Very Nice Image. I live the background and the head angles.

I would use patch tool to remove the twig which is close the loons bill.

Reflection is pretty cool. I can see pano crop in here as well.

Ahhh , loon season begins! i like this comp very much Randy, and very good suggestions that i agree with from Krishna. I like that the chicks are in different poses and everyone has their eye on you, the one with the foot out makes me laugh! Keep em coming.

Love everything about this canvas... Three great head angles, fantastic intimate low angle, OOF reflection and composition. TFS

Great frame. Nice pose on all three loons. The little ones riding along really make this one. Really like the colors in the water. Details look nice as well.

Oh boy Randy, this is amazing! Yes to removing that streak close to the bill, but everything else is picture-perfect. Velvety smooth face, excellent head angle, and of course the young ones on the back - each looking at you...one of my favorite loon images, by anyone, of late.

This is hands down one of your best loon pics.
    Drooling with envy here!
If I was to be super picky I might clone out or burn the white highlight streak in the water
