hi Dan, A beautiful bird and image. I like the weathered and mossed log and the pose of the pileated woodpecker. Exposure looks great, some of the red crest looks like some loss of detail, could you tame some of that red for any more detail? Lovely detail throughout, and the gold eye tops this off beautifully, well done.

Wonderful capture, Dan. These are always a treat to see. Like the light, fine detail, and lovely background.

    Dan:

Agree with Ann and Geoffrey. It is always fun to have these guys show up. Sound rather like a big chicken to me (clucking sound)
I do see the slight loss of detail in the reds on the crest.

They generally don't hang around in one spot very long in my woods, so a treat to have one stay so long.

    Cheers

Looking good Dan...Perfect exposure. lovely details on the bird, nice pose, a slightly better HA would work better. Perch and BG look nice as well.

Hear them but see them rarely. The pose and background are great. Nice detail on the bird as well.

Always a nice visitor for sure. Good perch, BG, pose. If anything I would crop more at left to have the log solidly anchored in the LLC corner rather than have a tiny gap to the edge as posted. IQ looks great!
