    Default Purple Gallinule

I have been tidying up my photos and archives. I came across this image and reprocessed today. Image captured at Circle B Bar Reserve in Polk County, Florida. Artie and I just finished writing a Guide To Mid Florida For Bird Photographers. It will be on his Birds As Art Online Store soon for purchase. In the guide I describe where and when the Purple Gallinules are in the open to photograph. There is a time when the Purple Gallinules come to this plant (Fire Flag, also called Alligator Flag) to feed on the blossoms at Circle B Bar Reserve. Comments and critique welcomed and appreciated. Thank you for viewing.

Nikon 80-400mm F/4.5-5.6 VRII AF-S ED, image captured at 290mm
1/500 F/5.6 Matrix Metering EV +1/3 ISO 500 Auto WB, camera supported by a monopod
Post processed in Lightroom Classic, Photoshop CC 2019 and Neat Image for noise reduction, removed a couple smudges of out of focus vegetation from the background
Cropped slightly for composition and presentation

Clean as a whistle Joe, love it, pose, crossed clutched feet, and the composition, done very well!

Looks great. Really digging the colors in this one those are some yellow legs. Nice to see you will have a guide available.

Classic PG in natural environment (no surprise). The sheer clarity and colors are off the charts... Only wish for a little more on top. TFS

    Hi Joe,

You've nailed this unique climb, in every respect, yet again.

Very Nicely Done. I like to see the guide. May be for my next Florida Trip, I will purchase the same.

I can see a tight crop which works as well.

Oooh, how cool is that! Nothing but good stuff in this frame. Come on now, spill the beans here :-) Just kidding, glad the guide will be available for interested folks.
